What We Believe
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.
THE GODHEAD
In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
WATER BAPTISM
Water baptism by immersion and all who repent should be baptised in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY GHOST
The baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
ETERNAL LIFE AND THE NEW BIRTH
Man's first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life.
SANCTIFICATION
In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD
In the pre millennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION
In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked. The lake of fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting," used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the Presence of God
